GOLLDEN – BIRDS IN SEPTEMBER / FEDERICA DEIANA – FAITH

A FEW BRIEF THOUGHTS

I was struggling for my usual Sunday ambient LP pick today so I thought I’d share a couple of fine EPs instead. First off is Gollden’s lovely, guitar led ambient folk celebration of her 33rd year circling the sun & it’s a sun blessed bucolic affair, oddly written in the Canadian winter, when I guess she was daydreaming about the return of t-shirts & cafe terraces. Thanks to the excellent Stationary Travels blog for making sure I didn’t miss it. Next up is a fine debut EP from Federica Deiana, a young Italian student who sounds older than her years, & who is currently developing a fine line in melting her piano led classical inclinations into ambient electronics. If you’re not purchasing, put them both in a playlist and hit the sofa.
